This policy explains what data our apps for iPhone and iPad (the “Apps”) collect and who it is shared with. The data controller is sole proprietor STSIAPAN MALTSAU, registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan under number 6692118 (“Uminate”, “we”). Questions and requests: support@uminate.com.
In short: you do not need an account to make music, and without one we do not collect your personal data directly. Signing up is optional — accounts, publishing and the feed are switched on by you and can be skipped entirely. Voice you record and audio files you import stay on your device. Advertising, analytics and crash reporting always apply and are described below.
This policy covers all of our App Store apps, including JamPad, Beat Machine, Easy Beat and Beat Loop: they share one codebase and handle your data in the same way. Social features — signing in, a public profile, publishing tracks, comments, likes and the feed — are optional in every App that offers them, and sections 3–5 apply only once you use them. Making music never requires an account.
The Google Play versions of these apps are covered by our general policy: the platforms differ in the ad networks used and in how you opt out of tracking.
You can create projects, play the pads and export tracks without ever signing in. Your projects stay on your device. In this mode we do not collect your name, email address or anything else that identifies you; only the analytics, crash reporting and advertising described in sections 8–10 apply.
Microphone. The Apps can record your voice straight into a pad. Recording starts only when you tap the record button, and iOS asks for microphone permission before the first one; you can refuse, and everything else keeps working. Recordings are kept on your device next to the sound pack and are not sent to us.
Your own sounds. You can load an audio file from Files into a pad. The App copies the file you picked into its own storage on the device; it does not browse your other files and does not send the copy to us.
Photos. Where an App has a profile, a picture for it is chosen through the system photo picker: the App receives only the image you selected and has no access to the rest of your library. That image leaves the device only when you upload it as a profile photo — see section 3.
The Apps do not read your contacts and do not request precise location.
Social features require an account; nothing else in the Apps does. There are two ways to sign in.
You also choose a public username. Your username and profile picture are shown publicly next to all of your activity. An authentication token is stored on your device and on our servers to keep you signed in.
Instead of the picture from your account you may upload your own photo. Before storing it we re-encode the image into a small square picture and discard embedded metadata, including capture coordinates; we do not keep the original file. You can delete the photo at any time from your profile.
When you publish a track, you send us the project file, the audio rendered from it, its title and technical metadata — sound pack, style and tempo. Comments and your profile bio are stored as text. All of this is public: other users can see, play and share it inside the Apps.
A project file holds the pattern grid, the tempo and the name of the sound pack — no audio. Voice you recorded and files you imported are stored separately on your device and are not part of it, so publishing a track does not upload them.
If you allow remixes of your track, other users can download that project file inside the Apps and make their own version; we keep the link between a remix and its source so that both are credited. Remixes are disabled by default.
To operate and rank the feed we record likes, comments, plays and how long they lasted, skips, impressions and publishing events, together with the musical style of a track and the approximate country and preferred language of your device. Country is determined on our servers from network information or from your device language settings; we do not store your IP address.
If you allow notifications, iOS issues a device token which is registered on our servers through Firebase Cloud Messaging and tied to your account — notifications belong to the account, not to the device. The token is removed when you sign out. Notifications cover likes, comments on your tracks and app news; per-track switches turn off notifications for a given track, and you can disable them entirely in iOS Settings.
The automatic generation features send our server only musical parameters: the sound pack name, style, tempo, instrument number and the pattern being edited. No personal data and no contents of your projects are sent in these requests.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to find bugs and understand which features are used. This collects your device model, iOS version, app version, usage events and technical crash data.
Free versions of the Apps show ads. Outside Russia they are served by Google AdMob, in Russia by Yandex Mobile Ads; the region is determined from your time zone, SIM country code or device language settings. Ad networks may use device identifiers and app usage data to serve and measure ads.
Where the law requires it, consent for personalised advertising is collected in the app through the Google User Messaging Platform, and you can change your choice in the app settings.
Tracking on iOS. Before using your device advertising identifier for tracking, the app asks for your permission through the system App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining does not affect how the app works — ads simply become non-personalised. You can change your decision at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Subscriptions and packs are sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple: your card details are never passed to us and are not visible to us. From Apple we only learn whether a purchase is active, so that the app can unlock the corresponding features.
Usernames, comments and profile bios are checked by automated tools, including Google’s Perspective API, which means that text is sent to that service. Profile pictures are not checked automatically: they are reviewed by a person, usually after another user reports them. We may hide or remove content and suspend or block accounts that violate our Terms of Use.
We share data with service providers that process it on our behalf: Apple (Sign in with Apple, purchases, notification delivery), Google (Sign in with Google, Firebase, text moderation, AdMob advertising), Yandex (advertising in Russia) and our hosting providers. Public content is visible to other users. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect rights and user safety. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with data brokers.
These providers and our servers may process data outside your country of residence. Where the law requires it, such transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Account deletion happens in the app. Open your profile, tap the account menu and choose “Delete account”. Your profile, posts and comments are removed from our servers. You can also request this by writing to support@uminate.com.
You can delete published tracks in the app at any time. An uploaded profile photo is deleted when you replace it, delete it yourself or delete your account. Account data is kept while the account exists; after deletion it is erased from live systems and within 30 days from backups. Analytics events and crash reports are retained for up to 14 months. Some records may be kept in anonymised or aggregated form.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Write to support@uminate.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also choose not to sign in, delete published content, turn off notifications and tracking in iOS Settings, or delete the app.
The Apps are not directed to children under 13, and social features may not be used by anyone under 13, or under the age of consent for data processing in your country if it is higher. We do not knowingly collect data from such users. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If our data practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
